We really hit the ground running since I last posted so tuck in cause this is bound to be a long one.
When I last left you in both blog and vlog we were still in the heat of the build whereas now we are just in the heat. It is currently Thursday May 31st, 2:56 in the afternoon and without a current Internet connection I can’t tell when or where this will actually be posted. The main build is done with just some finishing touches to be finalized, but as I am not sure where I last left off on that I will not talk about it anymore and will instead leave that to a later post or more likely just my van build series on youtube. With that being said let me update you with what has happened so far. PART ONE: THE COTTAGE We left on May 24th, after a few minor packing delays and headed up to Cam’s cottage, where I proceeded to take 0 pictures. On the way up we had a moment of panic as there was a minor functional error that I might talk about some other time. The cottage was nice and I got an opportunity to sort through a bunch of my junk while he was off helping his dad build a shed. We went to the drive in one night and Big Booty shone in all her glory while we got eaten by mosquitos (yes mom I know I need bug screening). We spent our first night in the van up at the cottage and it was nice to wake up with the forest surrounding us. From here passed back through the city to see a concert (Parquet Courts) and were off to Stratford the next morning for the begging of our Stratford Theatre Experience. PART TWO: STRATFORD The shows we saw along with a brief review are as follows:

Nice weather means building can continue, so heres an update on what's going on now. The walls are pretty much finished excluding a small bit around the back which we are in conversation about finishing a bit differently than had originally planned. This means right now we are trying to get the sanding finished up, but honestly this is super tedious and quite tiring - especially on the ceiling- so we but that on pause. We have some kind of oil for the walls and ceiling too, but need to finish sanding before we can put it on. My mom has kindly offered to sew the curtain divider separating the front and back of the van, so I guess that's being done now. I'll see it when she's done. Cam has build 2 boxes to cover the wheel wells and I believe he will be making another to cover another metal bit which pokes into the van. I MADE THE BED!!!! It still needs legs but it's made and is fully functional! It will actually rest on the wheel well box on one side so it will be super supported which is cool. This will get it's own video soon. Cam cut a bunch of wood for the kitchen, so that project can get started soon. We have the flooring material, and just need to purchase the underlayment which is going under it. The floor was a sick find at Cam's apartment, his landlord was throwing it out and it's super cute and I'm excited to install it and show you all! Before we can install the floor we will are going to finish the walls so we don't mess it all up with sawdust, tools, and oil, I bought stuff for the whole plumbing setup, this will go in as we work more on the kitchen. Also since having the van I have helped move things for people 5 times, and have another couple coming up, so that's been handy. AAAAAAAND That's all folks! |
