Someone in Vancouver also mentioned going to Moab in passing saying that there is a base jumping festival there on American Thanksgiving. Two recommendations means it must be cool, right?
So we went and... HOLY SHIT WERE YOU EVER RIGHT! Not only does it look EXACTLY like a scene from a roadrunner cartoon there were also such cool ass people there! Upon arriving we were told of a free Thanksgiving dinner at the hospital which we gladly went to and filled our bellies with warm home cooked food. Here we learned of a place called ~the fruit bowl~ which had a festival of some sort going on. More on this later. Then we went on a hike which I thankfully brought flashlights on as the sun went down real quick. Getting back to the van we met someone waiting for his friends to get back from a mountain bike ride.

ou with the pictures. While on Vancouver Island one day while a bit hungover and with bad weather hanging over my head I drove out to the Butchart Gardens.
As I approached all I saw were empty flowerbeds and few trees with coloured leaves on them. Kicking myself for only now realizing that it was just past the pretty part of fall and now into the cold without and real fun part I questioned why I made the drive. After questioning myself I asked a tour bus driver who assured me I should bite the bullet, pay the admissions lady and see for myself. Pictures speak a hundred words so all I'll say now is that bus driver was right. Click any of the pictures to see them bigger! SV |
